THE FASCINATING CASE OF SANIA MIRZA

There was this tennis player called Sania Mirza and now there is this tennis sensation called Sania Mirza. Well what a year can do for a person. At the start of the year ranked 206 in the world labelled as a hope for Indian tennis ,she isnow the defining word of Indian Tennis. A person who has utilised her talents to the fullest possible extent she has attained an exalted status in Indian society .. someone who can be looked at as an inspiration for the millions of young indians.. someone who has defied so many odds to reach where she has. She has gone an proved to the world that Indian women aren't necesserily sari and burkah clad beings remote controlled by the men in the house. But well here is where the trouble begins.

The "Fatwa" issued against her clothing seems to be the worst reaction that the society can give. It tends to give out the wrong signal to the outside world. Well the dress she wears doesn't respect Islam. But i do not ever think that any religion wud stamp down on people who are doing the nation and his/her society proud. It is just that a few narrow minded individuals use such cheap publicity measures. One does hope that Sania is not affected by all this unnecessary comments and keeps her mind shut from disturbances and goes on to make us all proud. And well, hope she has a suitable message on her next T-shirt.

Sania's truly
